Fitness Industry training is proud to offer eligible students subsidised training under the Queensland Government’s VET Investment Programs as a Skills Assure Supplier.

The Certificate 3 Guarantee provides eligible individuals with access to a subsidised training place in an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III level qualification.

The government’s initiative aims to provide subsidies to eligible individuals to complete their first post-school qualification and increase their skills to move into employment, re-enter the workforce, or advance their career.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Certificate 3 Guarantee, the prospective student must meet the following criteria:

  • Be aged 15 years or older
  • Be no longer at school
  • Permanently reside in Queensland
  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
  • Not hold, and not be enrolled in, a certificate III or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training.

Fee-Free Training for Year 12 Graduates

To support Queensland’s Year 12 graduates to successfully transition to employment, the government is offering fee-free training in high-priority qualifications under the Certificate 3 Guarantee.

To be eligible for fee-free training, the student must meet the Certificate 3 Guarantee eligibility criteria and:

  • have completed Year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement issued by the Queensland Studies Authority (or the ‘Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority’ which replaced the Queensland Studies Authority from 1 July 2014) or equivalent certificate that confirms you have completed Year 12 in Queensland
  • enrol and start training with an approved training provider by the end of the calendar year following the completion of Year 12
  • live permanently in Queensland.

Which Fitness Industry Training course is funded under the Certificate 3 Guarantee?

Fitness Industry Training teaches the following qualification under the program:

  • SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness

Student Co-Contribution Fees

Given the benefits that training provides to individuals, students undertaking Certificate III level training are required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution fee.

Fees are charged and collected at the Unit of Competency rate.

  • Non concession fees; $29.25 per unit ($468 total)
  • Concessional fees: $16.25 per unit ($260 total)
  • Year 12 Fee Free: $0.00 per unit ($0 total)

This fee can be paid with any of our payment options.

If you are planning on studying a combined SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness and SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness you can apply for government funding to assist the Certificate III section of your study.

User Choice

The User Choice program provides a public funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment services for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees.

The program recognises that employment-based training aligned to skills shortages is a critical priority for the Queensland Government. It aims to provide funding aligned to the skills needs of the industry and respond to changing government priorities.

Student Co-Contribution Fees

Student contribution fees are the non-government financial contribution to the cost of the training and assessment. It may be paid on behalf of the student by their employer or a third party unrelated to Fitness Industry Training.

Student co-contribution fees under the User Choice program are set at $1.60 per nominal hour for each unit of competency/module to be calculated at the time of enrolment.
