What were you doing before you started living the dream through F.I.T?
I was an Animator and illustrator for 15 years. With the rapid advancements in technology, the art form that I loved was becoming more about technical proficiency more so than my ability to draw well. I started to lose my love for my work as I wasn’t required to draw as much. I needed a change. I needed a career that would give me the same fulfillment I experienced in the early days of animation and cartooning.
What did you enjoy most about the course?
I enjoyed the practical aspect of the course. It is tactile in nature. Being able to interact, practice and create real life scenarios which is necessary to prepare an individual for the fitness industry.
What do you enjoy most about working in fitness?
Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I wanted to be able to share my passion and be able to make a positive impact in people’s lives. Teaching a healthy lifestyle and educating people about nutrition is very important today with the fast food industry being exposed to us at such a young age and so frequently.
What would be your advice to future Personal Trainers?
Listen to your clients and their needs. Tackle your day to day work with passion. Show people that you genuinely care and always practice what you preach.
Would you recommend F.I.T? If yes why
Most Definitely! To be successful at your craft or trade, proper mentoring when learning is crucial. When I saw that Chris Haseman taught the course I knew I had to study at F.I.T. Chris is the epitome of someone who practices what he preaches. He an extensive history and a lot of experience in a sport which requires utmost dedication and discipline as well as constantly challenging yourself and facing your fears. Chris has a teaching style that is engaging, clear, easy to understand and disciplined. I believe all these qualities combined is what I needed to provide a solid foundation in not only learning a new craft but developing the confidence to go out there and make it work.
